Making a Difference in Annapolis
Over 700 advocates including over 20 individual self-advocates,
staff and family members from Penn-Mar participated in the Developmental
Disabilities Day in Annapolis on February 22nd. They spoke
to legislators, key staff, and interns urging them to support the reinstatement
of the 3.5% mandated rate community service rate. As of last week, it looks

Black Tie Gala Breaks Records!
Kicking
of National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, 670 guests broke the
attendance record at Penn-Mar’s 25th Annual Black Tie Gala. Thanks
to the generosity of the attendees, the event raised a record $650,000-plus
this year in support of Penn-Mar’s innovative programs and services. Learn More»
Penn-Mar recieves two Prestigious Grants
Penn-Mar has received a $250,000 grant from the Harry and Jeanette
Weinberg Foundation and a $45,000 from the Marion L. and Henry J. Knott
Foundation to expand our Customized Employment Program. With these
grants, Penn-Mar will be able to work with additional individuals to
assist them in pursing a career. The Program has benefited numerous
